Alexey Obrovets

Born and raised in a pastor’s family in Moscow, Alexey trusted Christ and was baptized at age 16.  He became a district champion in basketball and graduated from music school with a specialization in violin.  In 2003, he both married Marina, whom he met at a Christian students’ conference, and graduated from Moscow State University (Russia’s most prestigious university) with a degree in journalism, subsequently working for 13 years in IT as a project and product manager for various big-name firms. Alexey’s theological education includes completing the Global Proclamation Academy course at Dallas Theological Seminary, as well as distance-learning courses in counseling, worship, and pastoral ministry from Liberty University. 

In addition to his IT work, Alexey served in his home church from 1996 to 2011 as a violinist, vocalist, youth ministry team leader, worship leader, and preacher. From 1997-2012, Alexey also played in the MiroTvorets (PeaceMaker) band and spoke about his faith through music, including several years of performing concerts in Starbucks cafes and festivals at Christmas and Easter time. 

Since 2015, Alexey has served at Moscow Bible Church as Worship Pastor

Alexey and Marina have 2 teenage daughters, Alexandra and Nicole, both of whom serve in the children’s and youth ministries.
